In history this half term, we have been learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We learnt about what was important to people living in the Stone Age, the importance of weapons and what the site of Skara Brae can teach us about life in the Stone Age. We compared the different Ages, thinking about how life developed during the different time periods. We also learnt about the Druids and used our skills of enquiry to work out what Stonehenge was used for.

Our art this half term has allowed us to combine our learning in history with our art skills. In our first lesson, we created cave paintings with oil pastel to communicate Stone Age stories. For our second and third lessons, we used salt dough and paint to create our own Stone Age artefacts. We then used watercolours to create Stonehenge artwork. For our final lesson, we were resourceful (just like people in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age!) using a limited number of materials to create our own Druid headpieces!
