In this lesson you will use the template and fact file to write your own non-chronological report about a safari animal

Activity

Group 1 – Choose one of the animals from the fact file and using the template, can you write your own non-chronological report, writing a simple sentence for each section.

Group 2 – Choose one of the animals from the fact file and using the template, can you write your own non-chronological report. Can you use the word ‘and’ in your sentences.

Group 3 – Choose one of the animals from the fact file and using the template, can you write your own non-chronological report, Can you write SUPER sentences using the word ‘and’ and maybe some suffixes such as ‘ing’, ‘ed’, ‘est’

L.O: Reading a non-chronological report and answering questions

In this lesson we are going to be reading a new non-chronological report all about ‘looking after dogs’. It is our job to use the information within the text to answer questions

Activity

Group 1 – Read the first page of the reading comprehension link and answer the multiple-choice questions on page 2. If you can’t print this, write your answers on paper using a pencil/pen.

Group 2 – Read the third page of the reading comprehension link and answer the multiple-choice questions on page 4. If you can’t print this, write your answers on paper using a pencil/pen.

Group 3 – Read the fifth  page of the reading comprehension link and answer the multiple-choice questions on page 6. If you can’t print this, write your answers on paper using a pencil/pen.

You can check all your answers on the answer sheets provided. If you would like to take pictures of your work and send them to me that would be much appreciated.

L.O: Using the PRESENT tense.

In this lesson we are going to think about where our witch lives and what they like to do. We will then write sentences about our witch in the present tense.

Use the verb word-mat here to help write sentences.

Group 1 – Thinking about the witch you created in Friday’s lesson. Can you write a simple sentence in the present tense. Remember to use a verb (doing word) such as Sitting, going, doing, jumping.

Group 2 – Thinking about the witch you created in Friday’s lesson. Can you write a sentence in the present tense. Remember to use a couple of verbs verb (doing word) such as Sitting, going, doing, jumping. Make your sentence super by using the word ‘AND’ to join two ideas. An example might be ‘The witch is jumping and sitting’.

Group 3 – Thinking about the witch you created in Friday’s lesson. Can you write a couple of sentences in the present tense to make a short piece of writing about your witch. Remember to use a couple of verbs verb (doing word) such as Sitting, going, doing, jumping. Make your sentences super by using the word ‘AND’ + ‘BECAUSE’ to join two ideas. An example might be ‘The witch is jumping and laughing because she is funny.’
