Dear Parents/Carers,

Whilst at home we encourage you to read with your child daily.  Any book is fantastic!

The Oxford Owl website: https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks/is a fantastic resource with free to access levelled reading books for all primary pupils.  It requires an adult to register with an email and then children can then simply log in to access the books and other learning resources so I urge you to register for this website.

The books can then be accessed on laptops, computers and tablets.

Phonics

The Phonics Play website:https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/ is great at supporting children in learning to read by developing their skills in phonics.  Currently the website is offering their services free to parents.  The login is as follows:

username:march20

password: home

Please play the Phase 1 games with your child.  When they are confident with these, you can move onto Phase 2.

The Jolly Phonics songs are a great way for your child to learn the letter sounds.

It is very important that the children say the letter sounds correctly to enable them to blend sounds into words.
